When you move, pack it right!

Using the moving supplies and packing kits when you move will save you from a headache when you finally arrive at your new home.

People will go to the nearest grocery or liquor store and ask for any empty boxes that they have left over after stocking their shelves. Unfortunately this method of obtaining storage boxes limits the mover to a mix-match selection of small sized containers, and when you move, fitting the proper sized container boxes with the item to be moved is critical.

Most people will make sure that their microwave oven is securely packed then take their bills and other important papers and toss them into the nearest empty box instead of using file boxes.They will fold the entire contents of their closet into an old refrigerator box, instead of spending just a little bit extra and buying proper wardrobe boxes.Some people will place a Tiffany lamp into an oversized box instead of choosing a thick walled medium boxes and bubble wrap for padding. There is nothing sadder than to get to your new home, pick up a box marked pictures and then hear the tinkle of broken glass from inside the box.

Items like picture frames, floor lamps and clothing need to be placed in the proper boxes for moving.Nor is it advisable to cut up various cardboard boxes in an attempt to fabricate the size you need. This process often means that you end up using copious amounts of tape to seal the edges, usually weakening the box in the process.

Even with the proper boxes, a smart mover must resist the urge to use cheap moving boxes.Using cheap surplus tape you got at as a good deal will be no bargain if the tape separates during the moving process.
